Notice to Bidders
CKenergy Electric Cooperative, Inc. is soliciting interested electric utility contractors for an overhead power line project. Contract services include retirement, re-conductor, and adding mid-span poles to approximately 34 miles of existing overhead power line. All is 3-phase 1/0 ASCR with a #2 neutral. This project will be broken down into five separate jobs, ranging from 3 miles to 9.75 miles, and will be bid individually. You can bid on any number of jobs, but please do not bid on more than you can handle. This project will be for labor and equipment only. All material will be provided.
Bids will be open from April 3, 2017, to close of business on May 1, 2017.
Each job will be awarded on May 8, 2017, and contractors will be notified on this day. Results of the bid will be updated on this website as well.
CKenergy requires all contractors to provide proof of insurance within the following limits:
- Workers Compensation and Employers Liability – $1,000,000 for each occurrence.
- Commercial General Liability – $1,000,000, per occurrence, combined single limits, applicable to claims due to bodily injury and/or property damage.
- Automobile Liability – $1,000,000, per occurrence, combined single limits, applicable to claims due to bodily injury and/or property damage.
Contractors shall name CKenergy Electric Cooperative, Inc. as an Additional Insured to the extent of the services provided under the Contract.
A complete bid packet will include company bio page (name, contact information, location, years of service, etc.) proof of insurance, references, a copy of company’s unit prices, and each individual job being bid on with a TOTAL price.
Labor units are based on the RUS Specifications and Drawings for 24.9/14.4 kV Line Construction. (RUS Bulletin 1728F-803 D-803) Bid proposals must follow this format.
Job 1 (Cogar Sub to Minco)
- 8.5 miles 3-phase retirement and re-conductor
- 154 mid-span poles added
Job 2 (Cogar store west)
- 3 miles 3-phase retirement and re-conductor
- 54 mid-span poles added
Job 3 (Old 66, Cherokee store)
- 6.5 miles 3-phase retirement and re-conductor
- 102 mid-span poles added
Job 4 (59th, Union City)
- 9.75 miles 3-phase retirement and re-conductor
- 149 mid-span poles added
Job 5 (Elm St. El Reno)
- 5.5 miles 3-phase retirement and re-conductor
- 90 mid-span poles added
A timeline of two weeks per mile will be enforced and written into the contract. Monetary damages of $300 per day will apply if the deadline is not met. CKenergy will use its discretion and make exceptions based on inclement weather and special circumstances if the timeline is not met.
