CKenergy's own Scotty Branham selected for Electrification Project
For the last few years, Oklahoma electric cooperatives have been proud to be a part of the Oklahoma Energy Trails Foundation, which works to bring electricity to rural, under-developed portions of countries such as Guatemala. This year, we are excited to have had one of our own helping with the electrification project.
Scotty Branham, CKEC's Electrical Services Supervisor, along with seven fellow Oklahomans and six linemen from across the state of Colorado are tasked with bringing power to the villages of Pie del Cerro and Tierra Blanca Salinas.
Scotty hails from Alfalfa, OK, where he lives with his wife Christy and their children, Logan, Chantelle, Camden, and Casen. He has been in the electric industry for the last 13 years. Scotty enjoys riding his motorcycle, kayaking, camping, and being outdoors. One day, he would love to hike the Appalachian Trail.
Scotty's main task in Guatemala is to make sure that all of the residences are wired properly so that they will be able to receive power once all of the electric lines are built.
Crew members leave for Guatemala on September 16, 2018. Check out our Facebook page for updates on this year's trip to Guatemala . To learn more about the Oklahoma Energy Trails Foundation, visit energytrails.wordpress.com
