Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CKenergy Electric Cooperative held a non-traditional, modified Annual Meeting of Members on Friday, July 31 at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center in Weatherford at 10:00 a.m.
"This was not an easy decision for the board to make,” CKEC CEO Clint Pack said. “Many ideas were discussed at length. Ultimately, it came down to keeping our members safe and healthy while at the same time adhering to our bylaws.”
Drive-thru registration began at 10:00 a.m. at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center. Members received a $20 bill credit on their electric account.
“This was not a decision that our Board or management took lightly,” explained CKEC Board President, Gary Brewster, “and we appreciate our member’s understanding in our choosing to uphold one of our seven guiding Cooperative Principles — Concern for Community. On behalf of the board, we want to thank our members for their patronage and their understanding of the method of this year’s CKEC Annual Meeting,” President Gary Brewster says.
